Artist statement and teaching philosophy
“Music can be a source of great enrichment in our lives and it is a pleasure to introduce young people to it. I always enjoy learning about my students' natural musical curiosities and exploring those with them. Learning musical and instrument fundamentals is an integral part of achieving musical goals. I introduce my students to deeper musical concepts with proper instrumental technique in place. I emphasize skill in reading music, playing songs by ear, discerning rhythms, listening to new recordings, and encourage making music with others."
