SHIRLEY ANDRESS (Mary Poppins) is a homegrown Oregon gal! She received her degree in Music Education from the UO and teaches voice out of her own private studio in Creswell. Shirley fell in love with “the musical” playing roles in community theater at LCC and VLT. Shirley has sung in a multitude of revues for the Treehouse Restaurant Co., Ragozzino Productions and The Eugene Concert Choir Pop Series. Shirley has been a principle with The Shedd Institute of the Arts for 18 years. She is a founding member and lead singer for The Emerald City Jazz Kings and for the past 8 seasons has assumed the role of artistic director for The Shedd’s Christmas show. She is the creator for several other Jazz Kings shows, most recently, Give Me A Song, a tribute to Jule Styne and Over The Rainbow, a tribute to Judy Garland. She has been a regular guest artist at The Shedd’s Oregon Festival of American Music with Dick Hyman, Ken Peplowski and Jesse Cloninger and is the 2015 recipient of the Eugene Arts and Letters Award. She has played leading roles in Peter Pan, How to Succeed in Business, Fiddler on the Roof, Crazy for You, Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, Annie Get Your Gun, Oklahoma!, Kiss Me Kate, White Christmas, The Sound Of Music, The King And I, and The Music Man. Shirley is thrilled to be flying as Mary Poppins in her 11th musical with The Shedd Institute.
